      Coaching: Seek out a good divorce coach who understands abuse, trauma, and the high conflict divorce. Coaching can provide the help, support, guidance, and clarity you need that is catered to your specific case. Talking to someone can provide validation, coping strategies, and a safe space to express your feelings. A good coach will help you be at your best when faced with court or other court evaluations.

      Journaling: Write about your experiences and emotions. This can be a powerful way to process your thoughts and gain clarity. Healing can come through expressing gratitude at the end of the day in writing.

      Support Groups: Connect with others who have gone through similar experiences. Shared empathy and understanding can be incredibly healing.       Set Boundaries: Learn to say no and protect your space and energy. Establishing boundaries is essential for your mental health. Remember, a boundary is communicating from a place of love what you will allow or not allow into your space/life. Then, also communicating what YOU will do if the boundary is violated. Follow through with what you said you would do. It can be hard to do this at first if you’ve never had boundaries before, but they work. I promise.

      Abuse often strips away your sense of self, leaving you feeling lost and disconnected from who you once were. Part of your healing journey is about rediscovering yourself and reclaiming your identity.

      Take time to think about what truly matters to you. What are your passions, beliefs, and dreams? Reconnecting with your core values can help you rebuild your sense of self.

      Establish personal goals that excite and motivate you. These can be small, like taking a class, or more significant, like starting a new career. Goals give you a sense of purpose and direction.

      Seek out positive relationships and environments. Distance yourself from negativity and surround yourself with people who uplift and support you.

      Be gentle with yourself. Healing is a journey, and it’s okay to have setbacks. Treat yourself with the same kindness and understanding that you would offer a friend.

      As you navigate this difficult period, know that peace, happiness, and joy are within your reach. It may not happen overnight, but with time and self-care, you will begin to see glimpses of light and hope. Embrace moments of joy, no matter how small, and allow yourself to feel happiness without guilt.
